Oral Medicine Specialist Consultant – Australian Board

About the role

A leading UAE healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Oral Medicine Specialist/Consultant with an Australian Board qualification to join its dental specialty team. The role involves diagnosing and managing complex oral and medically related conditions in a multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat complex oral mucosal, salivary gland, and orofacial conditions.
• Assess and manage potentially malignant and malignant oral lesions.
• Evaluate oral manifestations of systemic diseases.
• Manage chronic orofacial pain and related disorders.
• Perform oral biopsies and other diagnostic procedures.
• Interpret clinical, radiological, and laboratory investigations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and ensure appropriate follow‑up.
• Collaborate with dentists, physicians, oral surgeons, dermatologists, and other specialists.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with UAE healthcare regulations.
• Participate in clinical governance, teaching, research, audit, and quality‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• BDS/DDS/DMD or equivalent dental degree.
• Recognized Australian Board qualification or specialist training in Oral Medicine.
• Specialist/consultant‑level clinical experience, preferably in a tertiary hospital or advanced dental centre.
• Current specialist registration and good professional standing.
• Eligibility for DOH/DHA medical licensing.
• Strong diagnostic, clinical, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.

Required skills
