Outpatient Pharmacist – Diabetes & Endocrine Centre

About the role

We are seeking an Outpatient Pharmacist to join the Imperial College London Diabetes & Endocrine Centre in the United Arab Emirates. The role focuses on safe, accurate dispensing for ambulatory patients and delivering high‑quality medication counselling within a high‑volume outpatient setting.

Key responsibilities

• Review, verify and dispense outpatient prescriptions in line with Department of Health, JCI and hospital standards.
• Provide patient counselling on medication use, dosing, precautions and storage.
• Maintain optimal patient flow by ensuring timely dispensing and meeting waiting‑time targets.
• Identify and resolve therapeutic duplications, drug interactions and other medication‑related issues.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to clarify and optimise medication orders.
• Support medication‑safety initiatives, including LASA management and high‑alert medication guidelines.
• Manage inventory control, monitor expiries and ensure proper storage conditions.
• Document interventions and contribute to quality‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• Valid Department of Health (DOH) pharmacy licence.
• 1–2 years of experience in an outpatient or hospital pharmacy environment.
• Fluency in Arabic.
