Packaging Development Manager – Lead New Product Packaging

About the role

The Packaging Development Manager will lead the end‑to‑end packaging development cycle, from concept through launch, ensuring that new product packaging meets consumer expectations, technical robustness, and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver consumer‑delighting packaging while adhering to Himalaya's Packaging Excellence best practices.
• Lead and execute projects to achieve on‑time‑in‑full (OTIF) delivery of packaging components, coordinating with Dubai‑ and Bangalore‑based teams, factories, formulation, QA, SCM, marketing, and external suppliers.
• Liaise with packaging material suppliers to develop, evaluate, and qualify packaging components for the project portfolio.
• Modify or design new packaging solutions as needed, ensuring accurate specifications, technical drawings, and artwork KLDs.
• Maintain compliance with Halal certification, EMEA regulatory requirements, and sustainability agendas such as EPR and PPWR.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities with a data‑driven mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of influencing internal and external stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work with minimal oversight while driving speed to market.
• Consumer‑centric approach, taking ownership of outcomes and collaborating across functions.
• Deep understanding of packaging materials, formats, technologies, and regulatory landscapes.
