Part-Time Medical Director – Stem Cells & Cellular Therapy

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Part‑Time Medical Director to provide medical and clinical oversight for a specialized stem cell processing, banking and cellular therapy laboratory in Dubai. The role requires a DHA‑licensed physician with expertise in stem cells, cellular therapy and regenerative medicine.

Key responsibilities

• Provide medical oversight for stem cell processing, banking and cellular therapy product activities.
• Review and approve medical SOPs, clinical policies and product suitability for release.
• Support activities involving cord blood, cord tissue, MSCs, bone marrow, adipose‑derived cells and other approved cellular products.
• Review medical incidents, adverse events, deviations and clinical risks.
• Collaborate with Laboratory Director, Quality and Regulatory teams and ensure compliance with DHA and UAE regulations.
• Participate in DHA inspections, audits and licensing activities.
• Oversee staff training and competency documentation from a medical perspective.
• Support development of clinical research, cellular therapy programs and new regenerative medicine services.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor (MBBS, MD or equivalent) with an active DHA physician licence.
• Specialist/Consultant in Pathology, Haematology, Transfusion Medicine or a related field relevant to cellular therapy.
• Relevant experience in stem cells and/or cellular therapy, including practical stem cell processing procedures meeting DHA requirements.
• Strong understanding of clinical governance, patient safety and cellular therapy standards.

Required skills

• Stem cell processing and banking (cord blood, cord tissue, bone marrow, adipose‑derived cells).
• Mesenchymal Stromal/Stem Cell (MSC) handling, cell culture and expansion.
• Regenerative medicine and advanced cellular therapies.
• Knowledge of AABB, FACT/JACIE, GMP/GxP or equivalent standards.
• Experience supporting clinical trials or research involving cellular therapies.
