Patient Admin Executive (Reception & Billing)

About the role

Royal Khalifa City Hospital Abu Dhabi is looking for a Patient Admin Executive to support the reception and billing functions of the hospital. The role covers greeting patients, appointment management, insurance and billing, and handling day-to-day administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patients, direct them to the right departments and give routine information about the hospital.
• Handle telephone inquiries and pass information to the doctor or nurse for callbacks.
• Manage appointments, including no-shows, rescheduling and confirmations.
• Register new patients and keep current patient records up to date.
• Explain medical insurance coverage, collect co-payments based on eligibility, provide claim forms and issue bills and invoices for outstanding balances, co-pays, deductibles and non-covered services.
• Facilitate daily cash collection, credit card slips and cheque deposits, following finance protocols.
• Maintain working knowledge of the hospital information system, clinic hours, appointment durations, doctor rosters and appointment booking procedures.
• Check emails daily and respond to queries promptly; handle complaints fairly, courteously and respectfully.
• Follow the duty roster, including various shifts, and adhere to NMC regulations, infection control, patient safety and JCI standards.
• Take part in hospital training and quality improvement activities, and keep the reception area safe and clean.
• Keep patient and staff confidential and maintain accurate data.

Required profile

• College degree or diploma in any discipline or a related field.
• Good interpersonal skills with staff, colleagues and management.
• Ability to follow the duty schedule and hospital policies and procedures.
