Phlebotomist

About the role

NMC Healthcare is seeking a qualified Phlebotomist to join its laboratory team in Al Ain. The role involves collecting blood specimens, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and adhering to international quality and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform blood draws using venipuncture, capillary or finger‑stick techniques.
• Verify patient identity and label specimens accurately to prevent errors.
• Maintain and sterilise all equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
• Provide a calm and safe environment for patients, addressing any concerns.
• Document procedures, patient information and specimen details precisely.
• Transport samples securely to the laboratory for analysis.
• Follow safety protocols for handling and disposing of bio‑hazardous materials.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and report any issues.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and lab technicians to ensure timely results.
• Uphold confidentiality in line with HIPAA and local regulations.

Required profile

• Ability to work all scheduled shifts as directed by the Laboratory Director.
• Commitment to infection control, patient safety and compliance with DOH, JCI, ISO and OSHAD standards.
• Willingness to participate in continuous quality improvement and training programs.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with staff and management.
