Phlebotomist

About the role

Ketone Clinical Laboratory is seeking a Phlebotomist to provide safe and professional blood sample collection both at the laboratory and during home or on‑site visits. You will ensure a positive patient experience while maintaining high standards of sample identification, handling and transport.

Key responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and other authorised specimen collections safely and efficiently across a range of patients.
• Collect samples at the laboratory and during scheduled home, clinic and corporate visits.
• Verify patient identity, test requests and collection requirements before each procedure.
• Explain procedures, obtain consent and ensure patient comfort.
• Accurately label, document and track specimens according to laboratory procedures.
• Maintain infection‑prevention, hand hygiene, sharps disposal and occupational health safety.
• Monitor patient wellbeing during and after collection and respond to adverse reactions.
• Coordinate appointments, collections and timely sample pick‑up with laboratory and operations teams.
• Maintain equipment, consumables and stock levels, reporting shortages promptly.
• Record and protect patient confidentiality in line with regulations.

Required profile

• Recognised qualification or training in phlebotomy, nursing or equivalent healthcare discipline.
• Valid DHA licence or eligibility for the role.
• Practical experience in venipuncture and specimen collection, preferably within the UAE healthcare sector.
• Ability to handle patients with difficult venous access and provide a reassuring bedside manner.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability and ability to manage scheduled collections independently.
