PHP Developer – Backend & Frontend Engineer

About the role

Ocean Consulting Services is expanding its Dubai technology team and seeks a PHP Developer to help build the core backend infrastructure and internal product systems. As one of the first engineers in the office, you will have a direct impact on shaping the foundation of a new, distributed technology organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend APIs using PHP.
• Design, query, and optimise MySQL databases.
• Build and maintain frontend interfaces with JavaScript and React.
• Utilise AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) in daily work.
• Operate in a Linux environment and troubleshoot production issues.
• Collaborate closely with the engineering team on product and infrastructure needs.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with PHP.
• Proven experience with MySQL database design and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
• Experience building UI components using JavaScript and React.
• Comfortable working in Linux environments.
• Ability to understand system flows and work independently with good communication skills.
