About the role

Sharjah Medical Center is hiring a physiotherapist in Sharjah. The physiotherapist restores, maintains and improves patients' physical mobility and function through assessment, treatment and rehabilitation, helping them lead active, independent lives.

Key responsibilities

• Identify physical issues and treatment methods for each patient using available evidence, check vital signs are normal before procedures, and build a treatment plan and goals based on the physical diagnosis.
• Offer physiotherapy modalities such as superficial and deep heating, cold therapy, hydrotherapy and electrotherapy, and periodically review the patient's condition and adjust the plan.
• Schedule and inform patient appointments, coordinate insurance documentation, prepare insurance claim forms and collect the department's monthly collections.
• Prepare home exercise programmes, maintain patient records (diagnosis reports, treatment records, insurance, registers, treatment files) and obtain signed consent forms before procedures.
• Counsel patients on medication dosages, encourage them to report adverse reactions or emergencies, and guide them to the centre's pharmacies for medication and general products.
• Educate patients and bystanders on body mechanics, posture and lifestyle tips to prevent and manage physical disability.
• Promote the physiotherapy department and other departments, doctors and diagnostic facilities available at the clinic, and keep up with physiotherapy developments.
• Coordinate yearly biomedical equipment maintenance with the biomedical department and centre manager, and ensure open communication with colleagues to protect patient safety.
• Implement quality policies and procedures as per MOHAP, follow HR and IT security policies, and manage their own professional re-licensure.

Required profile

• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support provider card.
• Ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written English; Arabic is desirable.
• Willingness to work across departments when necessary.
• Desirable: proven ability to work in an inter-professional team and organizational/administrative skills for the electronic medical record platform.
