Planning & Cost Control Engineer - Fit-Out Projects

About the role

An experienced Planning & Cost Control Engineer is sought to join the Projects / Fit-Out Execution team in Dubai. The role covers developing and maintaining project schedules, monitoring budgets and costs, tracking progress and producing accurate reports to support timely, cost-effective delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, update and monitor baseline schedules and look-ahead plans using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Develop project budgets, cost plans, cash flow forecasts and cost-to-complete projections.
• Monitor actual costs against approved budgets, analyse variances and conduct earned value analysis.
• Review BOQs, subcontractor and supplier packages, interim payments and variation orders.
• Identify schedule delays and cost deviations, analyse root causes and recommend corrective measures.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress and cost reports for Fit-Out / Execution Management and the General Manager.
• Coordinate with site, procurement, design and commercial teams and support extension-of-time claims and related contractual documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Construction Engineering.
• 5-8 years of project planning and cost control experience, preferably in fit-out or building projects in the UAE/GCC.
• Strong analytical, organisational, reporting and coordination skills, able to monitor several projects and give management timely, accurate information.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Solid understanding of BOQs, cost codes, budgeting, forecasting and project controls methodologies.
