Planning Engineer

About the role

Aurora Prime Investment is hiring a Planning Engineer in Dubai to prepare, review and monitor project schedules for construction and development projects. The role tracks actual progress against the approved baseline, identifies delays and schedule risks early, and produces progress reports and dashboards that support decision-making so projects are delivered on time and in line with contract requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and update detailed project programs and schedules, including contractors' baseline, revised and recovery programs, and look-ahead programs (2-week, 4-week).
• Review milestones, critical activities, logical dependencies and durations, and perform Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis.
• Monitor progress against the baseline and verify contractors' weekly and monthly updates through site visits.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports, dashboards and management presentations, and maintain S-curves, progress charts, manpower histograms and planning records.
• Identify delays and risks, assess the impact of variations and changes, and support EOT submissions, delay claims and recovery planning.
• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, contractors and engineers, and take part in progress meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of planning experience in building construction in the UAE with Tier 1 contractors or developers; strong UAE construction experience preferred.
• Prior experience with a PMC, engineering consultancy, developer or client-side organisation highly preferred.
• Experience with residential, commercial, hospitality or mixed-use developments preferred.

Required skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Primavera P6; good knowledge of Microsoft Project and Excel.
• Solid understanding of construction sequencing, project scheduling, critical path analysis and progress measurement.
• Knowledge of FIDIC contracts, EOT assessment and delay analysis is an advantage.
