Planning Engineer – SWRO Desalination Project

About the role

The Planning Engineer will lead schedule development, monitoring and control for a seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination plant in Fujairah. You will work closely with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams to ensure the project stays on track and meets contractual milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Establish baseline schedules, critical paths and key milestones.
• Monitor progress, update schedules regularly and analyse variances.
• Coordinate planning inputs with engineering, procurement and site teams.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards and forecasts.
• Track procurement, material delivery and construction activities against the schedule.
• Support resource planning and allocation.
• Conduct risk analysis, scenario planning and schedule optimisation.
• Evaluate contractor schedules for alignment with the master schedule.
• Assist in claims analysis, extension of time (EOT) and delay assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or related engineering.
• 6–10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably on large industrial, infrastructure or SWRO projects.
• Proven experience working in the Middle East, especially the UAE.
• Strong analytical, reporting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
