Plant Engineer - Steel & Metal Division

About the role

A Plant Engineer is sought for the Steel/Metal Division, based at National Industries Park, Jebel Ali Industrial Third. The role covers hands-on technical work on metal machinery, supervision of department staff, development of departmental procedures, coordination with other departments and project estimation and pricing. At least 5 years of experience in the metal industry and machine operations is required.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily production operations and material flow in the Metal Division
• Endorse production orders, monitor and record their progress, and assign daily tasks and manpower
• Arrange the production plan, schedule and delivery, and prepare production drawings for steel and metal orders
• Perform quality checks and inspections during production and on finished products
• Provide training and guidance on metal machinery to team members
• Supervise manufacturing and machinery activities, and oversee installation of metal components for glass projects
• Collaborate with design and project teams to integrate metal and glass elements
• Prepare estimates and pricing for decorative steel and metal works

Required profile

• At least 5 years of hands-on technical experience operating metal machinery
• Experience fabricating decorative interior stainless steel (wall cladding, panels, railings, elevator interiors)
• Knowledge of coatings and finishing such as PVD colour coating, electropolishing and mechanical finishes
• In-depth knowledge of industry standards and pricing of decorative steel and metal projects
• Previous experience as a plant or division engineer, supervisor or similar role

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel
• Ability to supervise multiple teams
