Platform Engineer

About the role

The Platform Engineer will design, build and manage the server and storage infrastructure that powers Gadget Express. This role ensures reliable, secure and high‑performance platforms to support critical business initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with IT professionals to design system components, assess project constraints and define performance requirements.
• Apply standard engineering practices for hardware and software configurations and change management.
• Drive adoption of new platform technologies and approaches.
• Implement infrastructure, server‑based technologies, and SAN solutions for product initiatives.
• Design, build and manage all server and SAN technologies for the company.
• Deploy system monitoring and backup software to automate management processes.
• Implement security software and processes to meet best‑practice and regulatory standards.
• Perform 24 × 7 on‑call duties as needed.
• Work with product owners, architects and engineers to analyze, estimate and validate infrastructure features.
• Analyze specifications, plan computer layouts and stay current with vendor roadmaps.
• Identify and drive engineering process improvements.

Required profile

• 2‑8 years of experience with server or SAN technologies, depending on level.
• Experience in SAN architectures and distributed computing environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage operating systems, hardware design and security procedures.
