Platform Operations Engineer – OpenShift & Middleware

About the role

The Platform Operations Engineer – OpenShift & Middleware is responsible for the performance and delivery of Al Etihad Payments' Instant Payment Platform (IPP) and International Remittance Platform (IRP). The role ensures that all products, services and systems meet defined KPIs and SLAs.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade and maintain multi‑cluster Red Hat OpenShift Container Platforms across enterprise infrastructure.
• Conduct routine cluster maintenance, performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Integrate OpenShift environments with private‑cloud hypervisors and storage architectures.
• Configure, publish and secure APIs using Red Hat 3scale gateway.
• Manage enterprise messaging queues with Red Hat AMQ (ActiveMQ) and support Kafka where required.
• Administer enterprise SFTP services for secure bulk data transfers.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments using Jenkins and Red Hat Ansible.
• Implement monitoring, logging and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk and AppDynamics.
• Configure identity and access management using Red Hat SSO, Keycloak and integrate with Active Directory.
• Secure credentials, API keys and certificates with HashiCorp Vault.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in technology roles, with at least 2 years in product development or vendor management.
• Prior experience in payment services or technology delivery is a plus.

Required skills

• Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) administration and cluster lifecycle management.
• Red Hat Ansible, Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline automation.
• Middleware and messaging: Red Hat AMQ, ActiveMQ, Kafka.
• API management with Red Hat 3scale.
• Identity & Access Management: Red Hat SSO, Keycloak, OIDC, OAuth, SAML.
• Observability tools: ELK Stack, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics.
• HashiCorp Vault for secret management.
• Integration with Active Directory for authentication and RBAC.
