PMO Director / Lead - Rail

About the role

Mace is looking for a PMO Director / Lead for its rail business in Dubai. The role leads the establishment and operation of integrated governance, reporting, controls, assurance and decision-support arrangements across complex rail programmes and portfolios. The position is listed as part-time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the establishment and operation of governance, reporting, controls and assurance frameworks that support oversight and informed decisions across programmes and portfolios.
• Develop and implement governance strategies, management plans and performance control mechanisms aligned with client objectives, regulatory requirements and business priorities.
• Provide independent insight and challenge on programme performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate governance activities across clients, consultants, contractors and delivery partners.
• Integrate cost, schedule, risk, change, information and assurance functions into a single source of truth for performance and reporting.
• Support executive decision-making through high-quality reporting, performance analytics, assurance reviews and timely escalation of critical issues.
• Promote accountability, transparency and continuous improvement, including audit readiness and knowledge sharing.
• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and contribute to the net zero carbon transition by managing carbon emissions and reductions during delivery.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent professional experience in the applicable discipline.
• Demonstrated experience on rail, metro, high-speed rail or comparable major infrastructure programmes.
• Strong client-facing, analytical, written communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
• Knowledge of delivery processes, standards, systems and governance for the role.
• Professional membership, chartership or specialist certification preferred where applicable.
• UAE or wider GCC experience is advantageous but should not replace technical and delivery competence.
