Portfolio Head of Marketing

About the role

The Portfolio Head of Marketing oversees full-scale marketing promotions across a series of mixed-size events under the dmg Energy portfolio. The role works with dedicated event teams to define and deliver event brand strategies, marketing plans, team responsibilities, budgets and timelines, and to run weekly campaigns aimed at sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, delegates and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute marketing plans for three events at a time (exhibition and conference formats)
• Manage teams per event, including delivery timelines and weekly campaigns
• Manage monthly social media calendars, full-scale digital advertising and PR communications (press releases, regional and international coverage, industry influencers)
• Deliver marketing leads to sales teams and enhance event websites
• Identify and onboard trade associations, publications and media partners; manage databases, research audiences and grow conversion pipelines
• Work with Operations on outdoor advertising and event signage, and with the Event Management team on product, sponsorship and branding opportunities
• Manage the marketing team, set growth KPIs and performance plans, and report show performance to executive management
• Attend partner meetings, monitor competitors and conduct or commission market research

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years in the B2B events industry (mixed exhibition and conference shows, preferably energy, healthcare, construction or transport)
• Degree-educated
• Experience launching events and growing existing ones is preferred
• Strong copywriter with a strategic marketing mindset

Required skills

• B2B event marketing best practice and familiarity with event marketing technologies such as Salesforce, Eloqua, Adestra and Emarsys
• Understanding of data protection protocols
• Managing digital marketing campaigns and auditing procedures
• Ability to network with senior stakeholders, trade bodies and associations
