Postdoc Position in Network Scale-up Method

About the role

IMDEA Networks Institute is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to lead work on the Network Scale‑up Method (NSUM). The successful candidate will join the Global Computing Group, reporting to Antonio Fernandez Anta, and will contribute to high‑impact research, software development, and knowledge dissemination.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent research on NSUM and related data‑analysis techniques.
• Publish findings in high‑visibility journals and conferences.
• Supervise PhD students, engineers, and interns within the group.
• Prepare and submit grant proposals to secure research funding.
• Design, develop, and maintain software tools supporting NSUM studies.

Required profile

• PhD in statistics, computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Strong record of peer‑reviewed publications in relevant fields.
• Proven experience supervising researchers or engineers.
• Demonstrated ability to write successful grant proposals.
• Excellent presentation skills for diverse audiences.
