Postdoctoral Researcher in AI Testing & Threat Detection

About the role

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the American University of Sharjah seeks a postdoctoral researcher to advance AI‑driven testing, verification, and fault/threat diagnosis. The successful candidate will work on cutting‑edge reinforcement learning and machine learning methods, collaborating with faculty, graduate students, and interdisciplinary research teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and evaluate reinforcement learning and other machine‑learning algorithms for testing and threat detection.
• Publish high‑quality journal articles and present findings at top‑tier conferences.
• Build software prototypes and experimental evaluation frameworks.
• Supervise and collaborate with graduate research assistants and students.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field awarded within the past four years.
• Strong publication record in reinforcement learning or related machine‑learning areas.
• Proven experience developing reinforcement learning, neural networks, deep learning, and generative AI models.
• Ability to work independently and as part of interdisciplinary teams.
