Senior Java Software Engineer

About the role

The Senior Software Engineer – Java is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Java‑based applications while collaborating with a team of developers to deliver high‑quality, innovative software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with development team, product managers and cross‑functional teams to ideate software solutions and deliver new features.
• Design and develop high‑performance, scalable back‑end systems using Java Spring Boot.
• Develop, manage and optimise Oracle databases and related applications.
• Create and maintain robust REST and SOAP APIs, applying security standards such as JWT, Spring Security and OAuth2.
• Implement security and data‑protection settings, including encryption algorithms (RSA, AES).
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code and produce technical documentation.
• Test, debug and resolve software issues to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.
• Stay up‑to‑date with new tools and technologies to continuously improve back‑end systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, object‑oriented programming, design patterns, software architecture, database design and UML.
• Hands‑on experience with Java Spring Boot, Oracle databases, and application servers such as WebLogic and Apache Tomcat.
• Proficiency in building and consuming SOAP and REST web services.
• Experience with API security (JWT, OAuth2, Spring Security) and data‑encryption techniques.
• Familiarity with SOA and micro‑services architectures.
• Version control using Git/BitBucket and working knowledge of Linux environments.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
