Primary Teacher (Maternity Cover) - Immediate Start

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting a Primary Teacher for Yasmina British Academy in Abu Dhabi to cover maternity leave, with an immediate start. The school is part of the Aldar family and welcomes teachers who share its core values and understand the values of the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement departmental policies and practices that reflect the school's vision and commitment to high standards.
• Plan, monitor and evaluate short, medium and long-term departmental development plans.
• Use data to identify underachieving students and set up action plans to support them.
• Analyse school data to inform policies and the school's Self-Evaluation Form.
• Ensure schemes of work are in place and regularly reviewed, covering SEN, G&T and EAL provision.
• Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity and progression for all students, including those of high ability and with special educational needs.
• Set expectations for staff on standards, teaching quality and behaviour, and evaluate teaching quality to drive improvement.
• Contribute to the school's CAS Programme and after-school revision sessions for I/GCSE and IB DP courses.
• Performance manage the team, deploy staff and resources efficiently, and control the department's resource and capital budgets.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in the related subject with a PGCE or other teacher qualification.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience.
• Experience of the UK curriculum and a secure knowledge of the English National Curriculum.
• Proven track record of raising standards and closing learning gaps, and leadership experience at various levels.
• Commitment to an extensive enrichment programme and to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
