Primary Teacher (Maternity Cover) – Start October

About the role

Aldar Education is seeking an outstanding Primary Teacher for Yasmina British Academy in Abu Dhabi to start in October of the 2026/2027 academic year. This maternity‑cover role offers the chance to join a highly successful school community and to work with the English National Curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement department policies and practices aligned with the school’s vision and high standards of achievement.
• Use data to identify under‑achieving students and create action plans to support their progress.
• Design, review and evaluate schemes of work for all year groups, ensuring provision for SEN/POD, G&T and EAL learners.
• Monitor curriculum coverage, continuity and progression for high‑ability and special‑needs students.
• Evaluate teaching and learning quality within the department and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage staff performance, resources and departmental budgets in line with school policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Minimum three years of teaching experience, preferably with the UK curriculum and the English National Curriculum.
• Demonstrated ability to raise standards, implement effective strategies and work collaboratively in a team.
• Commitment to the school’s core values, regional cultural appreciation and safeguarding of children.
