Primary Teaching Assistant (January 2027)

About the role

Jumeirah English Speaking School (JESS), a British international school in the Middle East, is looking for a Teaching Assistant (LSA) for its Arabian Ranches Primary School, starting in January 2027. The role supports the class teacher and helps students learn effectively in group sessions and individually.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in planning, assessment, student support, evaluation and record keeping
• Help students learn effectively in group sessions and individually
• Give observational feedback to the class teacher and/or year group leader
• Assist class teachers in developing and delivering provision
• Cover for class teachers in their absence, as required
• Attend relevant CPD and carry out other duties such as school trips

Required profile

• Minimum High School Diploma; a CACHE Level 3 qualification or equivalent is desirable, attested and MOFA-stamped, with a UAE certificate of equivalency
• Recent school-based classroom experience
• Good rapport with students, high expectations of attainment and behaviour, and ability to work as part of a team
• Comfortable taking direction from class teachers and senior staff, and upholding safeguarding and child protection
• Keen, self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic about working with children
