Principal Applied Scientist

About the role

Inception42, a G42 company, is seeking a Principal Applied Scientist to lead pioneering AI research and development across computer vision, natural language processing, and audio signal processing. You will create and optimise state‑of‑the‑art AI algorithms and deep‑learning models that drive real‑world solutions for finance, oil & gas, environmental science, and healthcare.

Key responsibilities

• Design, analyse and optimise foundational and applied AI research to power cutting‑edge algorithms and model capabilities.
• Develop multimodal solutions that integrate text, audio and visual data for nuanced human‑machine interaction.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional researchers and engineers to ensure AI implementations are efficient, reliable and scalable.
• Partner with product development teams to embed new algorithms into products and deliver proofs of concept for clients.
• Identify scenarios where AI can improve customer business efficiency.
• Provide pre‑sales and post‑sales technical support to the business development team.

Required profile

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering or a related AI field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience developing AI algorithms for multiple modalities.
• Proven track record of high‑level research, demonstrated by peer‑reviewed publications or product‑driven R&D.
• Highly curious, inquisitive problem‑solver with excellent communication skills.
