Principal CAD Designer Electrical

About the role

The Principal CAD Designer – Electrical is responsible for designing, controlling, and releasing complex PCB layouts and manufacturing documentation within a highly regulated engineering environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop multi‑layer PCB layouts, component placements, and routing solutions using Altium Designer, addressing signal integrity, EMC/EMI, thermal and manufacturability requirements.
• Generate complete manufacturing documentation packages, including Gerber files, ODB++, NC drill files, assembly drawings, fabrication outputs, and BOMs.
• Manage PCB configurations, revisions, part structures, and change control activities within Windchill PLM to ensure full traceability.
• Review PCB designs, maintain component libraries, mentor junior designers, and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies and documentation standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8–15 years of experience in PCB CAD design, layout development, and manufacturing documentation in a regulated industry.
• Experience in defence, aerospace or other high‑reliability sectors is preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Altium Designer (schematic integration, PCB layout, routing, library management).
• Strong knowledge of Windchill PDM/PLM, IPC standards, configuration management, and manufacturing‑ready PCB documentation.
• Familiarity with Zuken and/or Mentor Graphics is a plus.
