About the role

AECOM is seeking a Principal Consultant – Environment to join its Dubai office. This senior advisory position will shape environmental strategies for a diverse client base across the Middle East, ensuring compliance with regional regulations while driving sustainable practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver comprehensive environmental consulting strategies tailored to client needs and local regulatory frameworks.
• Lead environmental impact assessments, audits, and compliance reviews across multiple sectors and project types.
• Analyse complex environmental data and regulatory requirements to provide actionable recommendations and risk mitigation plans.
• Manage executive‑level client relationships, ensuring high‑quality service delivery and long‑term partnership value.
• Oversee project teams, mentor junior consultants, and maintain rigorous quality standards.
• Stay abreast of evolving environmental regulations, sustainability standards, and best practices in the UAE and broader Middle East.
• Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in environmental consulting, preferably in a senior or principal capacity.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale environmental assessments and compliance projects.
• Strong understanding of UAE and Middle East environmental regulations and sustainability standards.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence executive audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
