Principal Electrical Design Engineer – Infrastructure

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead the design of dry utility infrastructure in Dubai. You will work on large‑scale projects, shaping master plans from concept through detailed design while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare master plans, including HV/LV dry utility corridor space proofing, ROW definition, and coordination with wet utilities, ICT, telecom, roads, and landscape.
• Develop demand load calculations, equipment sizing, protection coordination, and tie‑in point requirements up to IFC stage.
• Design electrical and ELV systems for STPs, RO plants, and pumping stations, covering lighting, power, earthing, lightning protection, telecommunications, security, and fire detection.
• Produce design reports, specifications, tender documents, and secure approvals through client and authority coordination.
• Review and comment on consultant design documents, prepare technical proposals, evaluate bids, and conduct value engineering.
• Respond to contractor RFIs, approve technical submittals, and resolve 3D model clashes using Civil 3D, Navisworks, BIM tools, and Revit.
• Lead the design of HV, MV, and LV networks for mega‑infrastructure projects, managing scope, budgets, and schedules.

Required profile

• At least 12 years of experience in electrical design for infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams and manage complex stakeholder coordination.
• Strong knowledge of local utility regulations and international standards.
