About the role
EDGE is seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer – Firmware to lead the design, development, integration, and certification of advanced firmware solutions for mission‑critical defence systems. The role provides technical leadership, drives engineering excellence, and supports long‑term technology strategy.
Required profile
- Lead the architecture, design, development, integration, and verification of FPGA and microcontroller‑based firmware systems.
- Establish and enforce firmware engineering standards, certification practices, and development methodologies in accordance with industry and defence requirements.
- Chair technical design reviews and oversee the development of Firmware Requirements Specifications and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
- Mentor and develop engineering teams while contributing to technology roadmaps and future firmware capabilities.
