Principal Engineer - Mechanical Design and Specification (Airframe)

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, is seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer for its Halcon business unit. The role leads mechanical design activities across the product lifecycle, from conceptual design and detailed design through analysis, testing, manufacturing support and in-service support, providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development from concept through production and support.
• Perform engineering calculations, simulations, design analyses and technical evaluations to ensure compliance with performance requirements.
• Develop and review design documentation, engineering changes, test specifications and verification activities.
• Mentor engineers and support multidisciplinary development programs and project execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor's, Master's or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant mechanical design experience (Bachelor's), 10 years (Master's) or 9 years (PhD); preferably in aerospace or defence.
• Proven experience in product development, testing, manufacturing support and performance evaluation of complex mechanical systems.
• Preferred: experience in guided munition, missile, aerospace or defence product development and manufacturing; experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
• English proficiency required.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in CAD systems and Product Data Management (PDM)
• Engineering analysis and mechanical design methodologies
