Principal Engineer - MEG Design & Specification, Airframe

About the role

EDGE is seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer - Mechanical Design for Halcon to support the development of advanced aerospace and defense products. The role leads mechanical design activities across the product lifecycle, from conceptual design and detailed design through analysis, testing, manufacturing support and in-service product support, providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers and contributing to robust, manufacturable, high-performance mechanical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development from concept through production and support.
• Perform engineering calculations, simulations, design analyses and technical evaluations to ensure compliance with performance requirements.
• Develop and review design documentation, engineering changes, test specifications and verification activities.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership while supporting multidisciplinary development programs and project execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor's, Master's or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
• 12 years of relevant mechanical design experience (Bachelor's), 10 years (Master's) or 9 years (PhD), preferably in aerospace or defense.
• Proven experience in product development, testing, manufacturing support and performance evaluation of complex mechanical systems.
• Preferred: experience in guided munition, missile, aerospace or defense product development and manufacturing, and experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in CAD systems and Product Data Management (PDM)
• Engineering analysis and mechanical design methodologies
• English proficiency required for all roles
