Principal Security Engineer

About the role

Join a leading banking organization in the UAE as a Principal Security Engineer, providing technical leadership for cybersecurity engineering and security architecture across critical banking platforms. This 6‑month contract role focuses on designing, implementing and enhancing advanced security solutions in a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and review security architectures for banking applications, infrastructure, cloud and enterprise systems.
• Lead implementation of Identity & Access Management, Privileged Access Management, encryption, key management and data‑protection solutions.
• Define security requirements, conduct threat modelling, technical risk assessments and security design reviews.
• Identify vulnerabilities and architectural gaps, recommend remediation and guide engineering teams on best practices.
• Support vulnerability management, SIEM, threat detection and security monitoring initiatives.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering or security architecture, preferably in banking or other regulated sectors.
• Proven hands‑on experience designing security solutions for complex enterprise or cloud environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to provide technical guidance to engineering and security teams.
• Immediate or short‑notice availability is highly preferred.
