Process Safety Consultant

About the role

Bilfinger is seeking an experienced Process Safety Consultant to lead risk assessment and fire protection projects for its oil and gas clients in the Middle East. You will work closely with clients, project teams and junior consultants to deliver high‑quality safety studies and designs.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessments (QRA) using tools such as PHAST, SAFETI and Flaresim.
• Perform consequence modelling, fire risk assessments, flare radiation and vent dispersion studies.
• Design and review active/passive fire protection and detection systems.
• Lead HAZID/ENVID/OHID, SIMOPS, PHSER, SIL, ALARP workshops and prepare related documentation.
• Manage projects, mentor junior HSE consultants and ensure compliance with ADNOC, NFPA, API and other international standards.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Chemical, Petrochemical or Mechanical preferred) with at least 5 years of HSE consultancy experience in the oil and gas sector, especially in the UAE, Qatar or Oman.
• Familiarity with ADNOC/QatarEnergy standards, international HSE codes and NFPA standards.
• Strong communication, leadership and project management skills.
• Excellent typing speed (90 wpm) and presentation abilities.
