Procurement Engineer – Estimation & Tendering (Civil)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer to support our Estimation Department in Sharjah. The role focuses on securing competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, preparing tender documentation, and contributing to successful bid submissions for roadworks, infrastructure, utilities and related civil projects across the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Estimation Department during pre‑tender and tendering phases.
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs and procurement requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations for roadworks, asphalt, drainage, utilities, landscaping and other civil works.
• Prepare commercial comparison sheets and make procurement recommendations.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules and commercial terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop competitive tender pricing and cost build‑ups.
• Coordinate with estimators, engineers, production teams and suppliers to ensure accurate costing.
• Source alternative suppliers, materials and value‑engineering options.
• Maintain supplier databases, market rates and subcontractor records.
• Monitor material price trends and market conditions affecting tender pricing.
• Support post‑award procurement planning and supplier engagement as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• 3–5 years of UAE experience in procurement, estimation support or tendering within civil contracting.
• Strong background in roads, infrastructure, utilities, drainage and asphalt projects.
• Good knowledge of suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors in the Northern Emirates and UAE market.
• Familiarity with asphalt materials, aggregates, road marking materials, kerbstones, interlock, utility materials and related products.
• UAE driving licence.

• Candy Estimation Software (preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• AutoCAD (basic to intermediate).
• Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with ERP systems (advantage).
