Procurement Engineer – Interior Fit-Out

About the role

Black Pearl Consult is looking for a detail-oriented Procurement Engineer with proven experience in interior fit-out or construction projects. The role manages the end-to-end procurement process, sourcing materials, subcontractors and services in line with project specifications, budgets and timelines. It calls for strong technical knowledge of fit-out materials, good negotiation skills and effective coordination with project and design teams.

Key responsibilities

• Study project drawings, BOQs and specifications to identify procurement requirements
• Segregate the project scope into procurement packages covering materials, subcontract works and long-lead items
• Float enquiries (RFQs) to approved suppliers and subcontractors and evaluate quotations technically and commercially
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules, and prepare comparative statements and recommendations for management
• Coordinate with project, design and planning teams on material approvals and procurement timelines
• Issue purchase orders (LPOs) and subcontracts after management approval, track deliveries and ensure on-time supply
• Maintain supplier and subcontractor databases, monitor market trends and pricing, and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Ensure procurement complies with project specifications, contractual obligations and company policies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Construction Management or a related field
• Minimum 3-5 years of procurement experience in interior fit-out or construction projects in the UAE
• Strong knowledge of the UAE supplier market and fit-out procurement processes
• Knowledge of interior fit-out materials such as joinery, gypsum, flooring, glass, metal, finishes and MEP-related items
• Experience in package-wise procurement planning and execution, supplier evaluation and subcontractor coordination

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, BOQs and specifications
• Familiarity with RFQs, comparative statements, LPOs and subcontracts
• Proficiency in MS Excel and procurement tracking tools
• Excellent negotiation, communication and vendor management skills
• Strong organisation and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
