Procurement Engineer

About the role

The Procurement Engineer manages procurement for construction projects, sourcing materials, services and subcontract packages on time and in line with project requirements, budgets and schedules. The role supports vendor management, cost control and compliance with company policies, working closely with project teams and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Verify material quantities and approval status with Project Managers and Engineering teams, and manage site material requisitions
• Prepare RFQs/RFIs and obtain at least three quotations for technical and commercial comparison, then perform price analysis and cost evaluation
• Update procurement logs and trackers bi-weekly, issue Local Purchase Orders within approved procedures and limits, and prepare summary reports for completed packages and closed invoices
• Research, prequalify and coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors, lead commercial negotiations and maintain vendor relationships
• Maintain structured databases of materials, suppliers and subcontractors, keep procurement records accurate in ERP platforms, and generate status reports and cost summaries
• Coordinate with Engineering, Projects, Planning, Finance and Stores teams, support the Senior Procurement Engineer, and ensure compliance with company policies, ethics and contracts

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering
• Minimum 8 years of procurement experience in the construction industry
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Strong communication, coordination and negotiation skills
• Experience in procurement of construction materials, subcontracting and cost control
• Familiarity with local construction markets, supplier networks and authority requirements
