Procurement Head - Fertilizer Industry

About the role

Apt Resources is seeking an experienced Procurement Head to oversee procurement for projects in the fertilizer industry in Egypt. The role covers strategy development, supplier relationship management, contract negotiation and the timely, cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment and services. The position is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project needs and organizational goals.
• Oversee end-to-end procurement, including sourcing, tendering, supplier evaluation, negotiation and purchase order management.
• Manage fertilizer projects so they meet technical specifications, budgets and schedules.
• Identify and build relationships with suppliers, manufacturers and contractors.
• Lead commercial negotiations for price, terms and delivery schedules.
• Review bids with engineering, project management and other departments.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery, quality and contractual compliance.
• Manage procurement budgets, cost estimates and expenditure forecasts.
• Coordinate with project teams on material needs and procurement risks or delays.
• Oversee contract administration and resolve supplier disputes, claims and delivery issues.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations and project requirements.
• Lead and mentor procurement staff and promote continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 18-20 years of procurement experience, preferably in fertilizer, petrochemical, chemical processing or other process industries.
• Extensive project procurement experience, ideally on large-scale industrial or EPC projects.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, optimize costs and control supplier performance.
• Strong commercial, analytical, negotiation and decision-making skills, with excellent leadership and stakeholder management.

What we offer
