Procurement Officer – Chemicals, Minerals & Fertilizers

About the role

Our client, a leading chemical trading company in Dubai, is looking for a Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing and procurement of chemicals, minerals and fertilizers. The role involves working closely with manufacturers, suppliers and traders to ensure timely and cost‑effective supply.

Key responsibilities

• Source and procure chemicals, minerals and fertilizers according to business needs.
• Identify, evaluate and negotiate with manufacturers, suppliers and traders.
• Negotiate pricing, minimum order quantities, lead times and shipping terms.
• Handle international purchasing and coordinate import procedures.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with chemical suppliers and conduct regular follow‑ups.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of procurement experience in the chemical industry.
• Strong knowledge of chemical suppliers and an established supplier network.
• Regional chemical procurement experience is preferred.
• Experience dealing with manufacturers, suppliers and traders.

Required skills

• Supplier sourcing and evaluation.
• Negotiation of pricing, MOQ, lead times and shipping terms.
• International purchasing and import procedures.
• Supplier relationship management and follow‑up.
