Rolling Stock Technician – Mechanical (Rail/Metro)

About the role

SEGULA Technologies is looking for experienced Mechanical Rolling Stock Technicians to support maintenance operations on a major urban rail project in Dubai. The role involves preventive and corrective mechanical work on metro rolling stock to ensure safety and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on railway and metro rolling stock, including bogies, wheelsets, axle bearings, suspension systems, gearboxes and couplers.
• Inspect, maintain and repair mechanical and pneumatic braking systems, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic components.
• Carry out mechanical dismantling, assembly, adjustment, alignment and component replacement, and verify post‑maintenance functionality.
• Diagnose mechanical failures, abnormal vibrations, excessive wear and other defects, recording all activities in the maintenance management system.
• Work in rotational shifts, including nights and weekends, while complying with railway safety, quality and HSE standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology or Mechanical Maintenance.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in railway or metro rolling stock.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical maintenance documentation.
• Good communication skills in English and willingness to work in a depot on shift patterns.

Required skills

• Mechanical maintenance of bogies, wheelsets, axle bearings, suspension systems, gearboxes and couplers.
• Maintenance of pneumatic and hydraulic braking systems.
• Use of workshop tools, torque wrenches, measuring equipment and specialised maintenance tools.
• Interpretation of mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
