Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Procurement Specialist supports MDR’s construction projects by acquiring the necessary materials while ensuring compliance with company policies, technical specifications, and budget constraints. Working closely with internal teams and external vendors, the specialist plays a key role in maintaining a reliable supply chain for the business.

Key responsibilities

• Procure materials in line with MDR policies, ethical standards, and project requirements.
• Act as the internal liaison for Project Management, Engineering, Construction, QA/QC, Safety, Accounting, and Warehouse teams.
• Manage external vendor relationships, conduct market surveys, and maintain a qualified vendor base.
• Execute the RFQ process: verify requisitions, issue RFQs, coordinate clarifications, and evaluate commercial bids.
• Prepare recommendation of award documents, obtain approvals, and place purchase orders.
• Administer purchase orders, handle revisions, resolve discrepancies, and ensure proper documentation for audits.
• Support expediting activities and monitor vendor performance continuously.

Required profile

• Solid conceptual knowledge of procurement with the ability to solve straightforward purchasing challenges.
• Understanding of key business drivers, construction industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Strong analytical judgment to evaluate solutions and make compliant vendor selections.
• Effective communication skills for interfacing with internal departments and external suppliers.
