Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Procurement Specialist supports MDR business activities by acquiring materials in line with company policies, ethical standards, and project requirements. Working with moderate guidance, the role ensures competitive pricing, compliance with technical and safety specifications, and timely delivery of goods.

Key responsibilities

• Procure materials for construction projects, adhering to requisition specifications, international standards, and internal procedures.
• Act as the internal liaison with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, QA/QC, Safety, Accounting, and Warehouse teams.
• Maintain and develop a robust vendor base, conduct market surveys, and monitor vendor performance continuously.
• Execute the RFQ process: verify requisitions, issue RFQs, manage vendor clarifications, and evaluate commercial bids.
• Prepare recommendation of award documents, obtain approvals, and place purchase orders within authorized limits.
• Administer purchase orders, handle revisions, resolve discrepancies, and ensure a complete audit trail.
• Support expediting activities and maintain confidentiality of procurement data.

Required profile

• Solid understanding of procurement concepts and procedures.
• Ability to work with multiple internal departments and external vendors.
• Capability to analyze straightforward procurement problems using technical judgment and established precedents.
• Familiarity with international standards, codes, and regulations relevant to construction materials.
