Product Service Principal Engineer - Generator & Electrical Systems

About the role

GE Vernova is looking for a Product Service Principal Engineer for its Generator and Electrical Systems business. The engineer diagnoses complex field issues, finds root causes (RCAs) and keeps equipment safe and reliable for customers, becoming a go-to technical expert for in-service assets. The role also involves shaping new ideas, mentoring the next generation of engineers and improving the performance of power systems worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Drive high-quality development processes and review and approve engineering deliverables to meet internal and external standards
• Define the state-of-the-art in the technical domain, proactively develop new technologies and protect them through patents and proprietary rights
• Work cross-functionally on risk management, identify systemic risks and implement effective mitigations, and coordinate with adjacent teams for system-level optimization
• Serve as a key technical interface for customers and suppliers to resolve complex issues and support mission-critical project delivery
• Lead the implementation of Lean methodologies and AI-driven processes to improve product safety, quality and cost-efficiency
• Develop and advocate technical standards, best practices and new tools, coach engineers and close skill gaps
• Foster a culture of inclusion, psychological safety and high-performance accountability, and represent the organization at user conferences and customer meetings

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
• Significant experience in engineering, design and/or services engineering
• Proven track record of delivering complex projects and driving process improvements
• Deep expertise in risk management, technical standards and quality management systems
• Fluency in English; 10-15% global travel required
• For US positions: 15+ years of engineering experience, 10+ years delivering complex projects, 8+ years in risk, standards and quality management

What we offer

• US-based pay range of $112,266 to $208,495, with a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% in some areas
• Discretionary annual bonus eligibility
