Project Director – Mixed-Use Development, Abu Dhabi

About the role

Mace is delivering PMC services for a major mixed-use development in Abu Dhabi that is entering a significant delivery phase, including extensive infrastructure works alongside industrial and steel-framed warehouse facilities in an active operational environment. It is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the programme as senior project lead, providing strategic leadership across all phases of construction delivery and acting as a trusted advisor to the client.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and accountability for delivery from pre-construction through to handover and close-out.
• Supervise integrated project teams covering project management, design management, commercial, planning, construction and technical specialists.
• Establish governance, reporting and assurance processes, and drive performance against programme, cost, quality, risk and sustainability objectives.
• Manage project recovery and mitigation strategies, and monitor progress, risk and performance metrics with corrective actions.
• Act as principal point of contact for senior client stakeholders and advise on decisions.
• Build relationships with government authorities, consultants, contractors and delivery partners.
• Oversee construction across multiple workstreams and packages, ensuring safe, compliant execution.
• Lead commercial strategy, contract administration and change management, and review financial performance against approved budgets.
• Direct, mentor and develop project teams, promoting Mace values and best practices.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering, construction management, project management or a related discipline.
• Professional membership such as MRICS, MCIOB or PMP preferred.
• Extensive experience delivering major building and infrastructure developments, including complex mixed-use, residential, commercial, hospitality or large-scale urban projects.
• Senior PMC, client-side or programme management leadership experience.
• Strong Abu Dhabi experience required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of project governance, contract administration, programme controls and construction delivery.
• Experience managing large multidisciplinary teams and multiple stakeholders.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of FIDIC contracts.
