Project Engineer – Oil & Gas Projects

About the role

KBR is seeking a Project Engineer to support safe, efficient and high‑quality delivery of Pre‑FEED, FEED, detailed design and EPCM projects in the oil and gas sector. The role involves coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities and interfacing with project management, procurement and construction teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities during Pre‑FEED, FEED and detailed design to ensure timely delivery of work packages.
• Maintain engineering schedules, deliverable registers, action trackers and interface registers.
• Support senior engineers and project managers in monitoring progress, resolving issues and communicating across teams.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, constructability and value engineering reviews.
• Assist with vendor technical interfaces, bid evaluations and document reviews.
• Support construction, commissioning, start‑up, handover and project close‑out activities.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in oil and gas, supporting Pre‑FEED, FEED, detailed design or EPCM delivery.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; professional registration (Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer) desirable.
• Experience on upstream/downstream facilities and brownfield projects preferred.
• Prior work with Middle East operators, especially ADNOC, is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Good understanding of Pre‑FEED, FEED, detailed design and EPCM processes.
• Knowledge of ASME, API, ISO, NFPA and IEC codes and standards.
• Familiarity with engineering tools such as SmartPlant, AVEVA, Hexagon, BIM/3D model review platforms.
• Ability to manage engineering schedules, scope changes, risk and project governance.
