Project Manager - Industrial Automation & Control Systems

About the role

An experienced Project Manager is sought in Abu Dhabi to manage end-to-end delivery of industrial digitalization, automation and technology deployment projects, including engineering coordination, procurement, supplier management, equipment logistics, field mobilization, installation, integration, testing, commissioning and handover. The role suits someone with a background in industrial automation, control systems and oil and gas projects, preferably with experience delivering projects in the UAE.

The ideal candidate has previously worked for an industrial automation vendor, control system integrator, EPC contractor or engineering services company, and can independently coordinate engineering teams, suppliers, subcontractors, client stakeholders and field personnel. Experience of 8-15 years is preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle, from initiation to handover, including plans, schedules, budgets, resources and risk registers, and lead progress meetings with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Handle industrial automation and control systems projects, including PLC, DCS, SCADA, RTU, industrial gateways and field instrumentation, and protocols such as Modbus, OPC UA and industrial Ethernet.
• Manage procurement of equipment and services, review quotations and technical submissions, and monitor delivery schedules.
• Plan logistics and mobilization for onshore and offshore projects, including customs clearance, transport, storage and personnel readiness.
• Coordinate CICPA/critical infrastructure security passes, site access approvals, site inductions and HSE training.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, FAT and SAT, and prepare as-built documentation and closeout packages.
• Act as the main interface with client stakeholders and manage cost, schedule and risk.

Required profile

• Background in industrial automation, control systems and oil and gas project execution.
• Previous work for an automation vendor, integrator, EPC contractor or engineering services company.
• Ability to coordinate engineering teams, suppliers, subcontractors and field personnel.
• Knowledge of client project execution, procurement, vendor management, CICPA/security permits and site access.
