Project Manager – Substation Cabling

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead cabling projects within electrical substations, covering high, medium and low voltage power cables as well as control, protection and communication cabling. The role is responsible for delivering projects safely, on time, within budget and to client specifications from planning through commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and manage cabling projects in new and existing substations, developing execution plans, work breakdown structures and detailed programmes.
• Coordinate cable installation activities – laying, trenching, tray and ladder work, pulling, termination, jointing, glanding and labeling – and oversee cable schedules, routing and as‑built documentation.
• Review drawings and specifications for compliance with IEC, IEEE and client standards, and ensure proper testing and commissioning including insulation resistance, continuity and high‑voltage withstand tests.
• Enforce strict HSE compliance in live substation environments, lead toolbox talks, incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Serve as main point of contact for clients, consultants and utility authorities, lead site teams and manage progress reporting, risk mitigation and issue escalation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8‑12 years of experience in power or electrical projects, with at least 5 years managing substation cabling projects.
• Proven experience with HV/MV cable installation, termination and testing.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
• NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent HSE certification preferred.
