Psychology Teacher (Maternity Cover) - January 2027

About the role

Aldar Academies is recruiting a Teacher - Psychology (Maternity Cover) for Bateen World Academy, a British and IB World School in central Abu Dhabi, starting January 2027. The school runs the IB Primary Years Programme (FS1 to Year 6) and the IB Diploma Programme and Career-related Programme (Years 12 and 13). The successful candidate will be closely aligned with the academy's core values and understand the values of the region.

Key responsibilities

• Comply with health and safety legislation, academy policies on safe working practice and equal opportunities, and the Performance Management Policy, including setting annual targets and acting as performance management reviewer if asked by the Principal.
• Take part in annual training on child protection, safeguarding and health and safety, and attend all staff briefings.
• Follow the staff dress code and the computer Acceptable Use Policy, and sign in and out at the reception when off site.
• Create a climate conducive to outstanding learning and teaching: set clear objectives, tasks and expectations, identify SEN or very able students, and use assessment data to plan differentiated learning.
• Mark and monitor students' work, assess and record progress, and prepare reports for parents and examination bodies.
• Contribute to subject development plans and the academy's visioning activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or another relevant field with a teaching qualification.
• At least 2 years' experience teaching a specialist subject up to GCSE and A Level is desirable but not essential.
• Previous experience working with students whose first language is not English.
• Passion for teaching, professionalism, respect for all members of the school community, and a positive, solution-focused attitude.
