Public Area Attendant

About the role

The Public Area Attendant at Rixos Al Mairid is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of all public spaces within the hotel. This role ensures a welcoming and comfortable environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize lobbies, hallways, elevators, restrooms, and outdoor areas.
• Provide guest assistance with directions and basic inquiries.
• Maintain restroom supplies and hygiene standards.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors, furniture, and fixtures.
• Empty trash bins and follow waste disposal policies.
• Perform scheduled deep‑cleaning tasks such as carpet shampooing and floor polishing.
• Monitor cleaning supplies inventory and report maintenance issues.
• Handle lost and found items according to hotel protocols.
• Identify and report safety hazards or spills.
• Assist with setup and cleanup for events in public areas.
• Follow eco‑friendly cleaning practices and support sustainability initiatives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience in hospitality is an advantage.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
• Friendly, professional customer service attitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively with housekeeping and maintenance teams.
• Effective time‑management and task‑prioritisation skills.
