QA/QC Engineer (Fit-Out)

About the role

Careers International is hiring a QA/QC Engineer in Dubai for fit-out and joinery works. The role ensures that all fit-out and joinery works meet quality standards, project specifications and client expectations, through inspections, quality control procedures and compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the company's QA/QC procedures for fit-out and joinery works, and review project specifications, drawings and materials.
• Inspect raw materials, in-process work and finished products, and prepare method statements, inspection test plans (ITP) and quality control procedures.
• Identify and resolve quality issues, non-conformities and deviations, and monitor joinery and fit-out works including carpentry, painting, polishing and installation.
• Carry out site and factory inspections, verify dimensions, finishes and workmanship, and coordinate with production and site teams to fix quality issues.
• Maintain inspection records, test reports, checklists and NCRs, conduct material testing, and assist in third-party inspections and audits.
• Work with project managers, site engineers, clients, consultants and subcontractors, provide technical guidance and run quality awareness training.
• Recommend corrective and preventive actions and contribute to quality management systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in QA/QC, preferably in fit-out and joinery.
• Experience with site and factory quality inspections.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of wood, veneers, laminates, adhesives, paints and other joinery materials.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, BS and ASTM standards.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills; strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD is an advantage.
