QA/QC Engineer - High-Rise Construction

About the role

AtkinsRéalis is hiring a full-time QA/QC Engineer in Abu Dhabi to oversee quality management systems, contract compliance, inspections and testing across high-rise residential, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality and building infrastructure projects. The role coordinates with contractors, consultants, suppliers and project stakeholders to deliver projects in line with international construction standards.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret construction contracts, specifications, RFPs and tender documents, and prepare quality, inspection, audit, NCR and CAR reports
• Monitor civil, structural, architectural and MEP construction against specifications, shop drawings, codes and standards
• Review contractor QMS, ITPs, method statements and quality procedures; conduct surveillance inspections and audits
• Review material submittals, samples, mock-ups and supplier qualifications, and inspect concrete, steel, waterproofing, façade, MEP and fit-out works
• Lead internal and external quality audits, monitor corrective and preventive actions, and take part in pre-handover, snagging and acceptance inspections
• Mentor QA/QC staff, support quality training and maintain quality records

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Construction Engineering or a related discipline
• 10-15 years of QA/QC experience on major building projects, including at least 5 years on high-rise developments
• Experience with reinforced concrete, building envelopes, fit-outs and MEP, and with contractors, consultants or PMCs
• CQE, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent certification preferred; Middle East or international high-rise experience preferred

Required skills

• ISO 9001 and ASTM, ACI, BS, IEC, NFPA knowledge
• Ability to write ITPs, method statements and quality procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Aconex, Procore, BIM platforms and quality management software
