QA/QC Inspector – Piping

About the role

The QA/QC Inspector – Piping ensures that all piping fabrication, welding, and installation activities meet approved drawings, project specifications, and relevant codes. The role involves close coordination with site teams, clients, and third‑party inspectors to maintain high quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review project specifications, drawings, ITPs, method statements and quality procedures for piping works.
• Inspect incoming materials, verify material test certificates, traceability and compliance.
• Conduct fit‑up, dimensional, orientation and alignment inspections before welding.
• Monitor welding activities, ensuring correct WPS/PQR application, consumables, pre‑heat and inter‑pass temperatures.
• Oversee fabrication, erection, NDT, hydro‑testing, flushing, drying and reinstatement activities.
• Coordinate inspection and testing schedules with site engineers and NDT subcontractors.
• Review NDT reports, hydro‑test packages and as‑built documentation.
• Raise NCRs/CARs, track corrective actions and ensure timely close‑out.
• Maintain inspection records, calibration logs, welder performance records and daily quality reports.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a QA/QC Inspector – Piping in oil & gas or construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3, API, ASTM and other relevant piping codes.
• Proficiency in reading P&IDs, isometric and general arrangement drawings.
• Experience in material verification, hydro‑testing and NDT coordination.
• Good documentation, reporting and communication skills.
